There is gonna be a whole ton of great shit to do and there is going to be a truckload of celebrities to see, meet, greet, hear, pose and pay for the privilege! And remember as always that it is VERY uncool to try and shake the hand of a celebrity while they are trying to eat or use the restroom. Need I remind you that Feo Amante's Horror Thriller Never accepts or posts cell phone photos of a celebrity's peeing penis (Professional high quality photographs, yes, but cell phone photographs? NEVER!*). Now that I've made myself clear, these are some of the celebrities you can expect to see at Monster Mania this weekend! Monster Mania's Very Special Guests are Plus Catherine Hicks (CHILD'S PLAY) in her First! Con! Ever! (because who the hell would ever attend a 7th Heaven convention? Yuck!). What's more, we have a fine line-up of the Usual Suspects including, Reggie Bannister (PHANTASM [all]), Reggie is a MySpace friend. So visit him! Get all the info at MonsterMania. *I'm joking jackass! We don't want those freakin' photos!^ ^ And if you are about to write me and say, "Hey Feo! You called me a jackass and I ain't no jackass!" My reply is, "The shit you say! If you feel obligated to write me and tell me that you aren't a jackass, then by definition, you ARE a freakin' jackass!" Now stop using my bandwidth! TOMORROW'S DVDS, TODAY! Among the collections are TOHO TRIPLE FEATURE - a 3 DVD box set featuring THE MYSTERIANS, VARAN, and MATANGO. These are the movies hitting DVD tomorrow. BLOODHOUND: THE VAMPIRE GIGOLO VOL. 3 - I'm just a gigolo / biting lotsa ho's / people know the blood I'm drinking. Pretty weird, huh? Oh, did I mention its from Japan? BORDERLINE CULT - This movie is based on the true life ongoing torture, rape, and serial killings in the border town of Juarez Mexico that have claimed the lives of thousands of women; continues unabated and even worse to this day, and that no one seems interested in stopping. Yes, it could make for a really fascinating movie, but it was directed by Ulli Lommel. DANGEROUS ISOLATION - A computer scientist is kidnapped and her daughter threatened in this Thriller I never hoid of before. EXORCISM: SPECIAL EDITION - From 1975 comes this Paul Naschy flick that tried to cash in on the popularity of the far superior, THE EXORCIST. Directed by Juan Bosch (THE KILLER WORE GLOVES). HOUSE OF GAMES - This twisted little Mystery of 1987 was written and directed by David Mamet (HANNIBAL) with some writing help by Jonathon Katz. Stars Lindsay Crouse (THE ARRIVAL, IMPOSTOR, MR. BROOKS) and Joe Mantegna. THE LIVES OF OTHERS - A 2006 Geman film in the vein of Coppola's THE CONVERSATION and Tony Scott's ENEMY OF THE STATE. It's East Germany in the early 1980s and a government wiretapper, Captain Gerd Weisler, discovers that the people he was ordered to spy upon aren't really suspected dissidents: the woman is the object of his boss's desire. Disillusioned with his latest task, Gerd has a brief but crucial moment to falsely affect the outcome of his mission, with unforseen results. Fans of spy Thrillers should enjoy this one. It's also available in BLU-RAY. MALICIOUS - From 1995 comes this Molly Ringwald Thriller about a love obsessed killer. NIGHT OF THE SORCERERS: SPECIAL EDITION - Normally with a title like that, the movie is pure fantasy and we don't touch it here. But this flick is a fantasy dark enough to be labled Horror and what's more, it was directed by one of my favorite Horror Thriller directors of hideously bad film, Amando de Ossorio (TOMBS OF THE BLIND DEAD, WHEN THE SCREAMING STOPS). If one can soar above the firey depths to the very ceiling of hell, then Amando took truly bad cinema to depths of artistic heights. And of course, there are those of us who can appreciate it. Which is why someone went to all the trouble of making sure this Special Edition was remasterd in High Definition from the original print. PERFECT STRANGER - After a run of big budget flops, Halle Berry (THE XMEN, GOTHIKA) certainly didn't need another one in this year's Thriller. Bruce Willis (THE SIXTH SENSE, UNBREAKABLE) is in this too with only a slightly better track record. Directed by James Foley (FEAR, THE CORRUPTER), it's also available in BLU-RAY and UMD for PSP. THE RISING DEAD - All the plot devices are here. Evil U.S. Government, Evil Scientists, bio-weapon that turns the dead into cannibal zombies, you know the drill. ROBOCOP: 20th ANNIVERSARY EDITION - A 2 disc set in a metal box yet! If by time or misfortune you've somehow missed this one, our review by Kelly Parks will explain why you need to see it, Tonight! SERENITY - Hell yeah it's Science Fiction! But how can we resist a movie from Joss Whedon of BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER and ANGEL fame? Plus the sickening Horror of his Reavers, which feature prominently in the Firefly TV show and are front and center in the movie. Yeah, SERENITY belongs here! Writer Maria Alexander (Various poems, short stories and screenplays) is 85. Visit her at MySpace.com / Lady Euthanasia. Actor James Marsters (BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER [TV], HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL [1999], STRANGE FREQUENCY 2, ANGEL [TV], SHADOW PUPPETS) is 45. Look for his upcoming Thriller, . And On Sunday - Mr. "Drama" himself, Actor Kevin Dillon (REMOTE CONTROL, THE BLOB [1988], TRUE CRIME, STAG, HIDDEN AGENDA, MISBEGOTTEN, OUT FOR BLOOD, POSEIDON [2006]) is 42. Actor Angus Scrimm (SWEET KILL, PHANTASM, THE LOST EMPIRE, PHANTASM II, TRANSYLVANIA TWIST, MINDWARP, SUBSPECIES, PHANTASM III, VAMPIRILLA, WISHMASTER, PHANTASM IV, INCIDENT ON AND OFF A MOUNTAIN ROAD) a happy 81st birthday! Look for Angus in his upcoming 2008 scheduled Horror Thrillers, HOLLYWOOD HORROR and I SELL THE DEAD. Horror writer John Passarella (WITHER, WITHER'S RAIN) who is 46. And on Saturday - With 25 movies in a 28 year career, today's birthday girl is a quiet blip on the celebrity circuit - which is how she likes it. Happy Birthday to an actor who has made her mark in Thrillers, Mystery, and Suspense. Actor Madeline Stowe (REVENGE, THE TWO JAKES, CLOSET LAND, UNLAWFUL ENTRY, BLINK, CHINA MOON, TWELVE MONKEYS, THE GENERAL'S DAUGHTER, IMPOSTOR, OCTANE) is 49.

AUG! 15 FIREFLY STILL FLYING The unusually convoluted and unexpected longevity of Joss Whedon's favorite personal project, coupled with an ever increasing fanbase, has resulted in a Special Deluxe Edition 2 DVD set of SERENITY. SERENITY is about a mysterious passenger with a deadly secret, six rebels on the run, and a remorseless assassin in pursuit. When the renegade crew of Serenity agrees to hide a fugitive on their ship, they find themselves in an action-packed battle between the relentless military might of a totalitarian regime who will destroy anything – or anyone – to get the girl back and the bloodthirsty creatures who roam the uncharted areas of space. But, the greatest danger of all may be on their ship. SERENITY is an edge-of-your-seat adventure loaded with explosive battles, gripping special effects and fantastic new worlds! SERENITY DELUXE EDITION 2 DVD set contains over 60 minutes of additional material than the original DVD and will be released on August 21. From Sheena Eustice Robert Greer’s latest novel, THE MONGOOSE DECEPTION, is the 6th novel in the CJ Floyd murder Mystery series. Whatsit Bout When Cornelius McPherson, a former highway maintenance man, finds himself trapped in a tunnel he helped create decades earlier; he’s horrified to discover the well-preserved, frozen arm of a fellow worker. McPherson remembers a secret the man whispered to him–that he knew who assassinated John F. Kennedy. When McPherson also turns up dead, CJ Floyd steps in to sort out the details, in the process going on his own hunt for the presidential assassin. CJ’s journey is a retrospective trek that has him fielding CIA plots, mafia dons, and Cuban conspirators. But it’s not until he realizes that there were two attempts on Kennedy’s life prior to his actual assassination in 1963–one in Chicago and one in Tampa–that he’s able to hone in on who might have really killed the president. The investigation takes him from the pristine mountains of Colorado to the muggy swamps of Louisiana, and ultimately leads him to a grieving, long-silent, Louisiana backwoods Creole mother who may hold the key to what happened. Robert Greer brings his trademark complex but never confusing plot, colorful cast of characters, and stylistic brio to one of America’s enduring mysteries in this dazzling whodunit. HAPPY

West, got together and made a mini movie!, Based on a short story by E.C.McMullen Jr., the film is titled LAST CALL and was made wiith limited funds and a whole lot of limited everything else including time. Even so, we shot a short creepy thriller over the weekend! Check out Blog.MySpace.com / FeoAmante for the whole story. Also Author Robert Dunbar (THE PINES) has an interview up at HellNotes.com. FeoNote: If you are in the Los Angeles area tomorrow, you may want to know about the following - On Tuesday, August 14, at 7:00pm, author Sherilyn Kenyon will be on hand at Dark Delicacies Bookstore to sign her new novel, DEVIL MAY CRY. Autographs are limited to those customers who buy the book at the DD store. Then on Wednesday, August 15, at 7:00pm, Tom Holland (CHILD'S PLAY) and David Schow (THE CROW), will be on hand to sign their new Masters of Horror DVD, WE ALL SCREAM FOR ICE CREAM. All autographs / signings are only eligible to those people who buy the book or DVD in Dark Delicacies, so suck it up! Dark Delicacies is located at TOMORROW'S DVDS TODAY! Here are the main releases coming up tomorrow, August 14, 2007 AMAZING JONATHON: WRONG ON EVERY LEVEL - The #1 Horror comic in the US showcases his scary gory show. CHARLIE CHAN COLLECTION VOL. 3 - Back in the early to mid 20th Century, long running movie serials were neither unheard of or even considered sequels. While the character of Charlie Chan was never played by an Asian man (Hollywood, go figure!), the uncanny Charlie was also intelligent and dogged in his pursuit of both the truth and the killer. Even today the movies stand up, although Charlie's comic side-kick, his Number One Son, can wear on you at times. THE DARK CRYSTAL: 25th ANNIVERSARY EDITION - Jim Henson directed this hit combination of live action and puppetry that caters to house apes while still delivering a compelling story that won't irritate adults. THE EMPTY ACRE - A pretty cool premise. A farming couple lives near a "dead acre", that's farmer talk for a patch of land where nothing will grow anymore - usually applies to organic farming, which strips the soil like little else. But this dead acre is growing every day and worse, any animals from birds to cows or even townspeople that accidentally wander too close to the area, mysteriously disappear. One day, their child goes missing... END OF DAYS / VIRUS DOUBLE FEATURE - Double your crap! Double your funk! FRACTURE - Critics loved it but audiences have grown tired of watching Anthony Hopkins continually dry humping his Hannibal Lector character, and that's what the trailer for this movie had to sell. GRINDHOUSE CLASSICS TWO-FER - Not all of the Grindhouse releases feature Horror, but this one does. THE WITCH WHO CAME FROM THE SEA and BLOOD BATH. HALLOWEEN - Still ANOTHER digitally enhanced version of this flick? I mean, Great movie but, God Damn! I already bought two previous editions that swore that THEY were the consumate end all be all freakin' edition of this movie! And while Anchor Bay Entertainment is doign that, Universal Pictures is doing this HALLOWEEN II & III - A sequel to the original Halloween that ain't too bad, and a second sequel that could have been good if it only wasn't so damn stupid. David Lynch's INLAND EMPIRE: LIMITED EDITION 2 DVD SET- Could be creepy, could be spooky, could even be altogether ooky. If only someone had seen it I would know something about it.Like everyone else, I didn't see it, like most of the people who will watch this movie, I plan to. LABYRINTH: 2 DISC ANNIVERSARY EDITION - This super dark fantasy was actually made for children. It's also a year late for its 20th Anniversary Edition, but at least it's of legal drinking age in the US. Following the plot device of an adventure story, Jennifer Connoly was poorly directed by the usually excellent Jim Henson. Masters of Horror: VALERIE ON THE STAIRS - Directed by Mick Garris and based on a story by Clive Barker. Please read our review. PANDEMIC - Tiffany Amber Thiessan stars in this bio-thriller as the CDC hunts down a virulent disease. Is it an old disease or some new virus? All that is known for sure is that this is a direct to DVD flick that also stars Eric Roberts and Oscar Winner, Faye Dunaway. PSYCHO II, III, and IV - Everything PSYCHO that was shot in color gets a shot at DVD all at one time. PSYCHO enthusiasts swear by II and IV. PUZZLEHEAD - From 2005 comes this updated Frankenstein movie that just might be worth a look. SAVAGE HARVEST 2: OCTOBER BLOOD - A successful low budget Horror movie maker returns home only to be threatened by low budget horror movie monsters. SPLATTER FARM - From 1987, this super indie movie has all the quality you've come to expect from splatter movies. If that's yer meat, then you are going to love this. TALES FROM THE CRYPT: DEMON KNIGHT / BORDELLO OF BLOOD - Now you can get both movies in one pack for the price of one. Good deal unless you hated the both of them. VACANCY - Really great movie poster, really lame trailer. The movie may be worth a look. Also available on BLU-RAY and UMD Mini for PSP. And On Sunday - When she's not doing teeny-bop pop soaps on TeeVee, today's birthday girl is belting out the Horror Thriller movies. Happy Birthday to Actor Rebecca Gayheart (Robin Cook's INVASION, SCREAM 2, URBAN LEGEND, FROM DUSK TILL DAWN 3, SANTA'S SLAY, VANISHED [TV]) who is 36. Actor Andras Jones (SORORITY BABES IN THE SLIME BOWL-O-RAMA, A NIGHTMARE ON ELMSTREET 4, EVERY BREATH, THE DEMOLITIONIST, THE ATTIC EXPEDITIONS) is 38. Visit him at MySpace.com/ Previous. Writer / Director Stefan Avalos (THE GAME, THE LAST BROADCAST, THE TRUE LEGEND OF THE NEW JERSEY DEVIL, THE GHOSTS OF EDENDALE) is 38. And On Saturday - Musician Richard Reinhardt aka Richie Ramone (THE RAMONES, of course!) is 50. Musician Erik Braunn (IRON BUTTERFLY) is 57.

In less than an hour, that nightmare will send him plunging into a frozen lake—and awaken him to a reality even more terrifying. AUG! 6 From Todd McFarlane Update Our free SPAWN masks were a huge hit, and our Prize Patrol wandered the crowds seeking out the masked and rewarding them for becoming Spawn-like. Continued at Spawn.com. From Ed Peters Co-star Deon Richmond (SCREAM 3) will be appearing at the Anchor Bay Entertainment booth at the HorrorFind Weekend 8 convention in Baltimore, MD Friday, August 10th through Sunday, August 12th.
Undercover reporting is a perfectly acceptable and sometimes necessary component of journalism. In the same way that secret police are sometimes necessary. Why are secret policemen sometimes necessary? "Because," said André, "Sometimes you have secret criminals." - Terry Pratchett But as with all undercover missions, you knew the job was dangerous when you took it. In Las Vegas at the recent DEFCON 2007 (a convention/expo for computer hackers, security people, and even the FBI), NBC Dateline Associate Producer, Michelle Madigan got busted with a hidden camera and comically ran from the event in high humiliation. Check out the video and George Ou's blog report at ZDNet. While we're on the subject of Hackers & Horror, have you checked out The Hacker's Source? CARE BEARS WERE NEVER LIKE THIS Teddy Scares are a line of 'zombie' teddy bears that have been forgotten about and essentially thrown away to live their lives together in a dump. We have two series of 12 inch plush bears- the first being highlighted in our quarterly graphic novel, and the second soon to join them in their misguided adventures featuring background stories of each bear, large cockroaches, and other gruesomely fun excursions. The bears have also recently been featured in a five minute 3-D animated short, which features voice acting by Visit Teddy Scares. TOMORROW'S DVDS TODAY! FIREHEAD - Good vs. Evil in this Russian film when a telekinetic cyborg blows his top. FLASH GORDON - SciFi and Monsters come together in one of the wildest movies ever made! FROM BEYOND - Please read the review. HATED: GG ALLIN (SPECIAL EDITION) - 1980s anti-icon, G. G. Allin (born Jesus Christ Allin - his father was also out of his freaking skull), was a racist, sexist, "homophobe" who hated everybody. That didn't stop him from pissing and shitting onstage, eating it and wiping it all over himself, then having sex with men, jumping off the stage to beat his male audience members unconscious and raping the nearest female audience member. There were never any Press Apologies from GG either. Constantly in and out of jail, his drug fueled life and violent performances became legendary and attracted the kind of audience that had enough self-loathing to endure him. GG had his critics, but nobody hated GG as much as he hated himself, and he died at the age of 36 due to a drug overdose. But none of that really gives you a clue to his music and stage performance as seeing actual footage. So this DVD could be your idea of an evening of trainwreck fun. THRILLER BIRTHDAY TO-
AUG! 2 From Christine Bell Two sophisticated Vampire authors who feature strong 3-dimensional woman characters, will be reading, giving a talk, and signing this Saturday Night, August 4th 7-8:30pm. Jeanne C. Stein. The Anna Strong Chronicles: BLOOD DRIVE. Paperback original. The second book in the series is just as delightful as the first, which we also have available: THE BECOMING. Paperback original. The protagonist, Anna Strong was a tough-as-nails bounty hunter, until the night she was attacked-and changed forever. Now a vampire, Anna does not prey on the unsuspecting but lives a secret life among her friends and family. Deliciously set in the present--with an added twist. I love the true-blue honest sense of ethics Anna has in a mean-streets profession and a newly acquired look into the dark side. A believable, edgy, smart series for adults who might like anything from Evanovich to Charlaine Harris. Karen Taylor's TWELVE STEPS FROM DARKNESS is a Trade Paperback Original. Something's not quite right about the neighborhood of Woodland Heights. Five years ago, six children disappeared in this suburban heaven. When Laura Wagner moves into a house that had been vacant for most of those five years, odd things begin to happen. Not that Laura, a divorced mother of two, notices. Addicted to alcohol and prescription drugs Laura is oblivious to almost everything. But when she returns home clean and sober after a forced rehabilitation, she realizes there's something very wrong. HAPPY HORROR
