To express the idea of "Clean comedy", I made the poster reminiscent of a box of clothes detergent. Because of the business nature of a Comedy Club, a certain amount of freewheeling spirit must be given to the logo. Therefore differences in color and even in its physical perception must be changeable, so long as the logo itself remains wholly unique and identifiable from any angle. Here, despite perspective and color changes, the logo, to the human eye, remains true and thus not confusing. As easy as this appears, it is difficult to achieve. Imagine, for example, the McDonald's "M" turned on its side and chrome. It's not the well known "M" anymore. 1998 Laff Spot, Houston, Texas |
