The challenge: How to make a G-Rated poster mild enough for family viewing, yet still relate the "taboo" excitement of a very hardcore, humorously offensive show. After all, if this was for a strip club, it would be a snap. A photo of the women - or men - and you've got it all wrapped up. But a taboo show from a mostly unknown comic who is just telling dirty jokes? You can get dirty jokes from your crude uncle, so why pay to watch an unknown? Outcome: The show was packed and the comic (real name Frank Lunney) liked the poster so much he kept one for himself. 1999 |
