NEILL MARSHALL: “Doomsday is a crazy film…in a good way!”
Neil Marshall came to the attention of cinemagoers with his 2002 werewolf opus Dog Soldiers (which, sadly, went straight-to-DVD in the US) and then hit the big time with 2005’s sleeper smash The Descent. Now, the Newcastle-born director has returned with Doomsday – a large scale sci-fi adventure that focuses on a plague which wipes out Scotland and, 30 years later, begins to spread to the rest of the UK. Calum Waddell caught up with Marshall to shoot the breeze about his latest big screen effort.

Unlike his first two features, "Dog Soldiers" and "The Descent", his latest venture isn't a foray into horror, but the realm of action-adventure.

Neil Marshall's DOOMSDAY Movie Arrives in March

Neil Marshall, director of 2006's horror hit THE DESCENT, recently finished Doomsday, a futuristic sci-fi action movie in the vein of Mad Max that he wrote and directed. You may be asking, what exactly is Doomsday? Even I don't know the answer, because besides the footage I saw at Comic-Con (which is now a blur in my memory), there are still no trailers or anything else released. Rogue Pictures has just set a March 14th release date and with that, we'll do our best to introduce you to the world of Doomsday and until a trailer arrives, explain some of what you might expect.
