APRIL APRIL 16 QUICK BITE IN DELIRIUM II features work by some of the top names in the genre:
ARE YOU READY TO BE PART OF THE GREAT EXPERIMENT? A while ago I made a series of short films for the BBC entitled WINTER CHILLS. Each week saw us visit a WW2 airfield, or castle, or medieval house to investigate uncanny events. We caught no ghosts on film but nevertheless it was an intriguing experience. There was a suggestion that behind stories of hauntings there was a common theme beyond someone glimpsing shadowy figures or hearing footsteps coming from deserted battlements. If anything, the people I interviewed weren't alarmed by the phantoms they'd encountered, or believed they'd encountered. Instead, they insisted that the apparitions radiated warmth and security and friendship, even love. After filming had finished I realized I'd been bitten by the bug. I wanted to continue investigating the mysteries that continue to haunt us. But instead of writing a book about it I decided to try something different. And different it is! Now, several months later I've made a documentary film entitled VENTURE MAN: TEMPUS FUGIT. I've incorporated what I hope is an intriguing - and unique - experiment. One that anyone can try. Unfortunately, and frustratingly for me, due to reasons beyond my control, the film is only available in the United States at present. Hopefully, it should playing globally on the Internet in the near future. And the mystery I'm investigating is? Ah, I don't want to let slip any spoilers. Only there is a certain 'something' that has the power to reach out and not only touch us, but well... again I don't want to spoil the show. Oh well, just a couple more clues:- Anyway, with no further ado, here are the film details and links:- BE PART OF THE GREAT EXPERIMENT... VENTURE MAN: TEMPUS FUGIT Follow Simon Clark as he conducts a most singular experiment, embarks on a voyage of self-discovery and investigates one of the world's most enduring mysteries. His journeys take him through English realms that are as haunting as they are beautiful. One hot Summer's day Simon is joined by John B. Ford and Paul Kane at an ancient stone circle in Derbyshire, England. There they conduct the great experiment... Oh, and did we mention that this experiment might turn out to be dangerous beyond comprehension? And that it's one you can try yourself? This way to the trailer and the film at Amazon Unbox: VENTURE MAN: TEMPUS FUGIT
From Sue Proctor With Hellboy: Blood & Iron, the combined talents of Tad Stones (Buzz Lightyear of Star Command), Mike Mignola (creator of HELLBOY) and Guillermo del Toro (writer/director, Hellboy, Oscar®-nominated for Best Original Screenplay: PAN'S LABYRINTH) have created a bloody good adventure that both engages and excites. Hellboy Animated: Blood & Iron is reminiscent of the classic ‘Hammer Horror’ films: an atmospheric tale of gothic thrills and chills – stunning to look at, terrifying in content. In 1939, the young Professor Broom destroyed the vampire Erzsebet Ondrusko. Now, decades later, it seems that someone is trying to bring her back and Professor Broom (John Hurt – ALIEN, HELLBOY, V FOR VENDETTA) wants to investigate this worrisome development himself. The agents from the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense – Hellboy, Liz Sherman and Abe Sapien – go with him, far more worried about defending their top researcher than with anything paranormal! But their view is soon revised when they find themselves battling werewolves, ghosts, harpies… even Erzsebet herself. Hellboy Animated: Blood & Iron strikes a rich vein of extras: Widescreen Presentation (1.78:1) Enhanced for 16x9 TVs ‘Reversal of Fortune’: Professor Broom’s Story Blood & Iron’s Alternate ‘Crappy’ ending ‘The Iron Shoes’: The Animated Debut ‘Pennangalan’: An E-Comic Exclusive from Mike Mignola Audio Commentary featuring Mike Mignola, Tad Stones and Vic Cook Exclusive 32-page HellboyAnimated: Blood & Iron comic book This will be the time when Hellboy faces the irony of his creation. Hellboy Animated: Blood & Iron forges this confrontation with over-the-top battles against the underworld to create an unforgettable experience!
Masters of Horror: FAMILY - John Landis (INNOCENT BLOOD, DEER WOMAN) directs this Horror comedy (does he make any other kind?) of a new family meeting an old and odd family n their new neighborhood. THE GAME - In 1997, Director David Fincher (ALIEN3, SE7EN), took everyone by surprise with this one. Michael Douglas plays Nicholas Van Orton, a bored and wealthy man sudeenly confronted with more excitement than he wants when his idiot brother gives him a very unexpected birthday present.KRAKEN: TENTACLES OF THE DEEP - Long time Feo fans know that I'm a sap for giant monster movies. Even really bad giant monster movies. Come to think of it, ESPECIALLY really bad giant monster movies. And this one is about some kind of varmint with tentacles! Woo! Woo! Need I say that a review will be up shortly? SPIDER-MAN 2.1 - As we approach ever close to the day of the SPIDER-MAN 3 release, The DVD folks are bound to do something to make us buy their DVD all over again. As with most late releases this desperate, if you bought the original 2 DVD Special Edition like I did, then you have everythiing. If you weren't that big a Spidey buff to begin with and only bought the cheapseat single disc. Yer good to go. If you... come to think of it, I'm not really sure what portion of the market this would go to.
And on Sunday - Actor Emma Watson, who began her career with the dark tales of magic and monsters for children with the Harry Potter movies (HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERER'S STONE, HARRY POTTER AND THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS, HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN, HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE) and never left! Her next movie HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX is currently filming. We should all be so lucky; so wish this kid a Happy 17th birthday! And on Saturday - Actor Sarah Michelle Gellar (BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER [TV], I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER, SCREAM 2, CRUEL INTENTIONS, SCOOBY DOO, SCOOBY DOO 2, THE GRUDGE, THE RETURN) hits the Big 3-0! Sarah has two upcoming movies. The Thriller, ADDICTED (expected 2007 release) and what will hopefully be as twisted as the video game, the Horror Thriller, ALICE (based on both American McGee's ALICE and Lewis Carroll's ALICE IN WONDERLAND and ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS). The most famous guitar riff of all time (Smoke on the Water) belongs to this heavy metal-er. Happy Birthday to Musician Ritchie Blackmore (DEEP PURPLE, RAINBOW, BLACKMORE'S NIGHT BAND) is 61.

APRIL 12 HAPPY HORROR THRILLER BIRTHDAYS TO -Science / Political Thriller Writer Tom Clancy (THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER, PATRIOT GAMES, CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER, RAINBOW SIX, GHOST RECON, THE SUM OF ALL FEARS, SPLINTER CELL) is 60. From Little House on the Prairie to Our House to Beverly Hills, today's birthday girl epitomized fleeting pop candy celebrity. But since getting on a Horror Thriller Comedy television show, she has been turning her career to television Horror Thriller movies. Happy Birthday to Actor Shannen Doherty (ALMOST DEAD, OBSESSED, CHARMED [TV series], STRIKING POSES, SATAN'S SCHOOL FOR GIRLS, ANOTHER DAY, NIGHTLIGHT) who is 36.
APRIL 11 From KotakuGHOST RIDER CREATOR SUES EVERYONE Ghost Rider creator Gary Friedrich is so angry his head might actually catch on fire. Stating the rights to Ghost Rider reverted to him from Marvel back in 2001, he has named Marvel, Sony Pictures, Columbia Tristar, Relativity Media, Crystal Sky Pictures, Hasbro, Michael De Luca Productions and Take-Two Interactive in a joint lawsuit, suggesting they considered to exploit, profit from and utilize his copyrights. Read the full story at Kotaku.com/. And while yer at it, scroll through the comments. The one by Xerxes7 about the creation of Ghost Rider is hilarious.

Newsweek magazine, already one foot from a tabloid grave when they broke the story, a few years ago, of a U.S. soldier flushing a Koran down a toilet (even the most gullible idiot looked at that and said to their self "How the hell can you possibly flush a book down a toilet?") now brings us their version of Horror and it's auteurs. The story written by David Gordon is laughable on so many accounts. The headline reads: Horror No Longer Scares Hollywood, and goes on to talk about all of the A-list'ers who now have no qualms about starring in a Horror movie. Ri-ight. Writing from the realm of ignorance is hardly new to Newsweek, but this article is about our home so here we go. Continued at No News Newsweek.
HOW LUCKY CAN ONE GUY BE? I'm going to be in Who's Who! Well, not the International Who's Who, or the Marquis Who's Who (the REAL Who's Who), but a thing called Madison Who's Who. They feel I'm a top notch executive and it's free to be published after the initial entrance fee! Not only that, but some wealthy Nigerians want to make me wealthy as well! Ain't that a kick in the head?
APRIL 9 QUICK BITES Also BARE BONE has just hit the streets with stories by Robert Dunbar, Tom Piccirilli (A LOWER DEEP, A CHOIR OF ILL CHILDREN, THE DECEASED, DEAD LETTERS, THE NIGHT CLASS), Gary Fry, Gary McMahon, Mark Zirbel, John Platt, Michael A. Arnzen (FREAKCIDENTS, 100 JOLTS), Steve Rasnic Tem, Charlee Jacob, Cody Goodfellow, D. Harlan Wilson, and ... and ... and... MORE! Wassmor The latest issue of CHIzine is up, featuring fiction by David de Beer, Matthew Sanborn Smith, Leslie Claire Walker, and more.
ASYLUM RELEASES UNDEAD EVIL TRAILER AND PREVIEW Frank Forte's GRAPHIC NOVEL of VOODOO TERROR SHIPS JUNE 2007 "It's a twisted Lovcraftian, Zombie thriller," says writer/artist FRANK FORTE', of UNDEAD EVIL, a 64page, glossy, B&W toned graphic novel, featuring art by Nenad Gucunja (SATAN GONE WILD) and Seattle's own Ben Olson (DRAKEN), doing a painted cover. Published by Asylum Press. UNDEAD EVIL will be listed in the April 2007 Diamond catalogue, shipping June 2007. UNDEAD EVIL Synopsis: Alfred Carter must travel to The Big Easy to cleanse his bloodline. What he finds are terrifying family secrets and a descent into madness. Forte says, "I've always been a Lovecraft fan, and his influence has always creeped into my stories. I wanted to do a tale that had that Lovcraftian tone without redoing what's been done before." UNDEAD EVIL trailer #1 and 8-page preview can be seen at: undeadevil.com.
A SCANNER DARKLY - anyone who has read a Philip K. Dick story knows how difficult it must be to re-write it for the screen. Even so, this animated muddled mess from Director and screenwriter Richard Linklater, wanders lost from isolated scene to isolated scene, leaving all of the characters without any strong motivations for their actions. The special effect of Linklater's animated rotoscoping is great and so are the performances by the cast, but without a coherence in the plot, they simply do what they do until the story ends, and that's not what Dick intended. EL AURA (aka THE AURA) - From Argentina comes this weird and creepy flick about a Taxidermist who plans the perfect crime. Not quite in our broad genre list here, but only because it doesn't really quite fit within any genre list. Still, we love the bizarre and hope you do too. JONESTOWN: THE LIFE AND DEATH OF THE PEOPLE'S TEMPLE - Real world Horror in the form of a documentary, Director Stanley Nelson and Writer Marcia Smith unfold the tale of Reverend Jim Jones. Jones New Age religion, The People's Temple was brought out of the United States and into Jonestown, Guyana in 1979. The religion was unraveling as Jones had indulged in his most base desires, including under-aged girls (isn't that always the way with these whacked-out religious types? They go straight for preying on children). This documentary tells the story of what led up to the final day when over 900 of Jones fervent followers drank poisoned Kool-Aid or were shot to death for trying to escape. After that, "You must be drinking the Kool-Aid" became the sneer of conservatives when discrediting liberal beliefs. PHANTASM III - is finally out on DVD in the U.S. Now if we can only get the full set in a spacial Flying Ball collector's edition like they've had in Europe for over a year now, we'll be all set. SCOOBY-DOO, WHERE ARE YOU?: The Complete THird Season - if you were looking for the complete third season, well, here it is. SLAUGHTER NIGHT - From Tartan Video comes this DVD that I know next to nothing about. Provocative cover though evoking Little Red Riding Hood - except with a shotgun. I'll be reviewing it soon. HAPPY

Her Full House days long past, today's birthday girl has since filled her career with television thrillers which, to be honest, really ain't too bad! Happy Birthday to - Actor Candace Cameron Bure (I SAW WHAT YOU DID, MONSTER MASH: THE MOVIE, SHARON'S SECRET, VISITORS OF THE NIGHT, NO ONE WOULD TELL, NIGHT SCREAM) is 31. You probably didn't know this about today's birthday boy, but in addition to his long time role in the TV hit, Cheers (Hey Cliffy!), he . . . Well, yes, he was in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. But he was . . . Yes, he did have a recurring role in the first two Superman movies. But the thing is . . . yes, he is a successful voice-over actor these days: having done all six of the Pixar movies. But when he's being an actor in regular movies, he has done an awful lot of Horror/Thriller in his career! So Happy Birthday to Actor John Ratzenberger (TWILIGHT'S LAST GLEAMING, WARLORD'S OF ATLANTIS, MOTEL HELL, OUTLAND, GOLIATH AWAITS, FIREFOX, WARLORDS OF THE 21ST CENTURY, HOUSE II, TICK TOCK, SPIRITED AWAY, MONSTERS, INC., THE INCREDIBLES) who is 60.

RIP'N FOR BOB CLARK Director Bob Clark is best known to fans of comedy for his series of amazingly popular PORKY'S movies that he wrote and directed in the 1980s. More family comedy oriented fans remember him fondly for A Christmas Story, based on the short stories by the humorist, Jean Shepherd, and the Christmas when Ralphie really wanted a Red Ryder B-B-Gun. He also made the Oscar nominated Father-Son flick, Tribute. But to fans of Horror Thrillers, Bob Clark will always be remembered as the Director who brought us BLACK CHRISTMAS (1974). Like many of Bob's movies, this one did poorly in theaters, attracting a mass audience in television airings down the years. But BLACK CHRISTMAS was also very influential, to other film makers, including John Carpenter, who freely admits to lifting the story device for HALLOWEEN from Bob (he even asked for Bob's permission). Bob also made the Horror films, DEAD OF NIGHT (aka DEATH DREAM), and CHILDREN SHOULDN'T PLAY WITH DEAD THINGS. Bob Clark died in a car accident yesterday, April 4, along with his 22 year old son Ariel, thanks to the murderous stupidity of an unlicensed, uninsured, drunk driver who crossed over into oncoming traffic, hitting Bob and Ariel head on. Bob died the very same week that the BLACK CHRISTMAS remake was released on DVD in the U.S. HAPPY HORROR THRILLER BIRTHDAY TO -

I FLUB AN INTERVIEW WITH STUART GORDON This brief interview was done because I'm trying to get on the gameshow, Deal or no Deal. Part of getting on there is to make a 5 minute video of yourself, what you like, your friends, and such. Well, everyone knows that I like Horror Thriller, Mystery, and Suspense. So when I had the chance to meet Writer / Director / Producer Stuart Gordon (RE-ANIMATOR, DOLLS, FROM BEYOND, KING OF THE ANTS, DREAMS IN THE WITCH HOUSE) at a Dark Delicacies signing in Burbank, California, I asked him if I could do a quick interview with him. This interview, about 20 seconds long, is quite brief. Check it out right here. Or, for a larger view, go to my Stuart Gordon page and scroll to the bottom. HAPPY HORROR THRILLER BIRTHDAY TO -

Horror writer Michael Laimo (DREGS OF SOCIETY, DEEP IN THE DARKNESS) is having a signing in his hometown to support his latest novel, DEAD SOULS (Yeah, Laimo has this thing about titles that start with the letter "D"). The signing takes place on Thursday, April 12th, at 7:30 PM. The event will last about an hour. Barnes & Noble All you Huntington Feofans (are there any Huntington Feofans?), get out there and tell him Feo Sent Ya! Also The Bram Stoker Awards are in! Check out who won at Horror.org. Wassmor Over at Horrorworld.org, Stoker Award winner Lee Thomas is their featured author this month with an eerie tale called THEY WOULD SAY SHE DANCED.
My webhost, Valueweb.com, had all kinds of troubles with their Urchin software in March. Many hours of visitors were simply zeroed out. That said, what visitors feoamante.com did record added up to over 105,000 actual visitors (I still have my raw logs afterall). Of those, over 11,000 people from the U.S. were unique visitors. Add another round-about half of that from Canada. Add another two thirds of the Canadian number from Europe. Add another half of that two thirds from Asia and Australia. The three most requested search engine pages were this homepage, The TOP TEN SCARIEST MOVIES page, and our interview with Naomi Harris (28 DAYS LATER, PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MAN'S CHEST). I never forget that it is yall who make feoamante.com the #1 Horror Thriller website on the Internet and keeps our place as one of the top five Horror entertainment sites! I'll keep doing my best to make Feo Amante's Horror Thriller website everything you love and more. Thanks!
H.R. GIGER ALIEN CREATURE SUIT UP FOR AUCTION "In Space, no one can hear you scream!" In 1979, that was the harrowing message and tag-line announcing Ridley Scott’s ground-breaking Science Fiction thriller ALIEN, an original and disturbing vision in modern cinema and a far cry from the glamorous looking Sci-Fi Motion Pictures, audiences had been presented with until that point. Featuring an Alien creature unlike anything ever to be introduced to the silver screen, combined with a unique and hostile alien landscape, the film became an instant classic and holds up in its intensity to this day, nearly 30 years later. The terrifying Alien Costume, designed and created by acclaimed Swiss surrealist artist H.R. Giger, will go on the auction block on April 5 at renowned auction house "Profiles In History". One of the most important Science Fiction artifacts ever to be sold, the suit is estimated at $100,000-120,000. HAPPY

TOMORROW'S DVDS TODAY GODZILLA RAIDS AGAIN - Is the current video title, but G-fans may remember this film as the second movie (1955) in the series, titled, THE RETURN OF GODZILLA (or even GIGANTIS). This sequel was hitting theaters in Japan before anyone in the U.S. had heard of the first one. Thanks to hundreds of bored U.S. sailors going to Japanese theaters (back before people said stupid shit like "What's our exit strategy?"), words about the incredible GODZILLA and this sequel made their way across the Pacific and back to the states so that, by 1956, GODZILLA (with a Raymond Burr addendum) knocked American audiences on their butts! (See? There is always a worthwhile reason to have a military presence in other countries!) Sales of last year's double DVD Special Edition set were so hot that they are giving the special treatment to the second movie. Special box treament anyway, this is only a single disc - but the box is "Oooh! So Pretty!" Still, if you are a GODZILLA guy like me, this DVD is a must. If you aren't a big GODZILLA guy like me (are there any GODZILLA gals?), then you may want to wait for my upcoming review of the movie and the DVD before you plunk your money. THE MARIO BAVA COLLECTION VOL. 1 - YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! With BLACK SABBATH, BLACK SUNDAY, THE GIRL WHO KNEW TOO MUCH, KILL BABY KILL, and KNIVES OF THE AVENGER! So cool! So freakin' cool! TWIN PEAKS: The Second Season - David Lynch's loopy tale of a small town murder of a local girl. What made it screwy is that the federal government would send in a single oddball FBI agent to bloodhound the crime - and be willing to stay there and get paid there, year after year, even though he's getting nowhere (except the local diner does serve that damn good cup of coffee! Mmmm. Coffee. I'll be right back. I'm going to go get some coffee. There, I'm back. Did you miss me?). But that just scratches the surface. Everybody in this northern town is a dysfunctional nutjob (the kind you often find on message boards). Yes, I admit it, I was one of the betrayed who saw all of the whacky local yokels and thought that series creator, David Lynch, was actually going somewhere with the story. Those are two years I'll never get back. And then I got suckered again just a few years later with THE X-FILES. Ask me sometime why I refuse to get involved with watching LOST.
In both TV and movies, today's birthday girl has largely directed her career toward work in the Horror / Thriller / Mystery / Suspense genres Actor Lindy Booth (EERIE INDIANA [TV], TEENAGE SPACE VAMPIRES, THE SKULLS II, AMERICAN PSYCHO 2, ODYSSEY 5, WRONG TURN, DAWN OF THE DEAD [2004], CRY WOLF) and is 28 today. Her latest movie DARK HONEYMOON is slated for a late 2007 release. This birthday boy hasn't turned his sights on our favorite genres in any specific way, yet he has been in some Horror classics - both good and cheesy - that are hard to ignore! Actor Dabbs Greer (HOUSE OF WAX [1953], INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS [1956], THE VAMPIRE [1957], IT! THE TERROR FROM BEYOND SPACE, EVIL TOWN, PACIFIC HEIGHTS, SUNDOWN: THE VAMPIRE IN RETREAT, HOUSE IV, THE GREEN MILE) is 90. Writer / Artist Jacob Hair (SATAN'S 3-RING CIRCUS OF HELL, ROTTWEILER, 2001 MANIACS, SNOOP DOGG'S HOOD OF HORROR, BOO, CEMETERY GATES) is 28. Look for Jacob's work in the upcoming Horror movie, PRIMAL SCREAM, with an expected 2007 release date. Jake was a bud before he became a friend at MySpace.com/JacobHair.
