HAPPY HORROR BIRTHDAY TO-
Hey, anybody remember that young Heavy Metal kid, Yngwie Malmsteen? Yeah, time passes like nothing! Ol' Viking Yngwie, like the majority of super talented Nordic guitarists, never amounted to much in the US Music Media Market Circle, but he still plays one mean guitar and his albums still contain some of the best hardcore fretwork ever.
Musician Yngwie Malmsteen (RISING FORCE, MAGNUM OPUS, ALCHEMY, ODYSSEY, GENESIS, ATTACK) is 41.
Ken Foree (DAWN OF THE DEAD, FROM BEYOND, DEATH SPA, TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 3, THE DENTIST, DAWN OF THE DEAD ) plays Captain Spaulding's (actor Sid Haig) brother, Charlie Altamont: A pimp who has his own whore town out in the boondocks middle of nowhere. Shooting continues today - Tuesday - and is expected to wrap up tomorrow.
Check out Ken Foree's site for more.

There's a new Oliveri out there. Patrick Daniel Oliveri, to be exact. Little guy was born on the morning of 6/10, weighing in at 8 lbs 2 oz and 20" long. He's the spitting image of his big brother Tim, who is in turn excited to have someone around to distract Mom and Dad while he gets into trouble.
Succulent Prey is the story of Joseph Miles, a young psychology student who was attacked by a serial child murderer as a small boy. Years later he finds himself struggling against a growing impulse to kill and consume that he believes is due to a virus the killer passed on to him. He believes that serial killers may be caused by a communicable disease, perhaps the same one responsible for the werewolf and vampire myths. Now he must find a cure for this serial killer virus before the woman he loves becomes the next victim of his murderous lust.
The book is available for pre-order from Bloodletting Press but won't be published until sometime in 2005.
THE NEW REX MUNDI
FeoNote: Comic book noir rarely gets smarter or weirder than Rex Mundi. These are the updates for you folks you have yet to discover this detective. The following is from the folks at the world's biggest home-cooked comic book title.
REX MUNDI #11- It's done! and off to the printers, so, unless there's a horrible problem at the printers, you all should be enjoying it next month. Good stuff. It's another really good issue marking, as I said earlier, the end of this second chapter of the story and a pretty major turning point for Julien as he gets a little more involved with one of the factions than he'd like!
REX MUNDI #12- Is in production as we speak and it's going to be another really good one with an appearance by an old friend that hasn't been in these pages since very early on. Longtime readers will be stoked. :) We also have an appearance by a certain very famous, great historical Englishman. This one should be out in August.
REX MUNDI #13- OK, so you all know that we're taking a break, but that break is turning into just a break from soliciting as our financial situation has forced us to do things that have slowed the production of the books unfortunately. Thing is, we're MORE sick of our erratic schedule than you guys are (believe me), so in an effort to put that all behind us we're not going to solicit this issue until it's drawn, which will hopefully afford us time to, as we originally planned, get those elusive buffer issues under our belts, and also hopefully allow us at least a little more time to work on other projects that will help us pay our bills. So, we'll keep you updated as to when to look out for that solicitation, but IT WILL BE COMING. Gotten a lot of people asking us if we're coming back after our break. to which the only answer is, "Of course we are!" We haven't come this far to call it quits, and, beyond that there are just too many really cool things, like rising sales, happening to even consider quitting now, sillies. :)

THE END IS NEAR
Demon-mother Mia has possessed the body of Susannah Dean and transported them both to New York City, 1999. The remaining katet continue their battle to save the Tower, but soon learn that magic has its own mind. And Eddie and Roland find themselves in western Maine, 1977, encountering the author of a book called Salem's Lot...to the great surprise of them all! And those are just the broad strokes of this intense and intricately woven sixth book.
"For me, it's like a finale and a reunion all at once," says Stephen King of the concluding three books in the Dark Tower series. "I've put everything I've got into these three books." In addition to the six titles in the now-classic Dark Tower series, Stephen King has notched dozens of bestsellers, from early thrillers like CARRIE, SALEM'S LOT, and THE SHINING, to more recent, acclaimed works like BAG OF BONES, FROM A BUICK 8, and DREAMCATCHER.

HORROR THRILLER BIRTHDAY TO -
A VICTORY FOR THE INSECT MINDS
Dying of an incurable disease is actually no victory for anyone. But I predict that there will be many poison-hearted, empty, vapid people who will be cheering today because the man who ended the Cold War and the threat of a world wide Nuclear holocaust - the only one who could - died Sunday due to complications of Alzeimer's Disease.
Ronald Reagan is hated by many for going against the threat of the former Soviet Union. He is reviled for standing up to their massive war machine that was bigger and stronger than our own. He is despised using confrontation (which worked) instead of appeasement (which didn't work and, historically speaking, never has. Those who forget history...). Thousands of writers and tens of thousands of books, stories, and articles, both fictional and non-fictional (prior to Reagan), could only see a future world which involved a final nuclear confrontation between the USSR and the USA. Books like that don't exist today and they never will again. What's more, today they appear awfully pessimistic and not the least bit insightful: because the man who figured out a way to peacefully end the Cold War and the threat of total nuclear annihilation of the world, did so without a single shot having to be fired. No president before or since has been able to settle so massive a threat to the world. Yet by doing this, he proved many people in the American press wrong. They expected him to fail. They wanted him to fail. They hoped that they could write his failure into history. They didn't. Reagan won and saved the world. The rest of the world saw it. The U.S. press didn't want to. These same writers and pseudo-intellectuals who could not forsee a peaceful way to end the nuclear stand-off (outside of outer space alien intervention!) have wrote many scathing and untrue articles about him and have tried, with varying degrees of success, to pass them off as truth. They couldn't make their slander stick while he was in office, which earned Reagan the nickname of "The Teflon President".
Reagan didn't do everything right. Who ever does? He had many weaknesses. Who doesn't? And because he was the leader of one of the most powerful nations in the world, all of his warts were magnified. Many of us loved him warts and all.
But in the end, the man who saved the lives of every human being living on the planet today, died of Alzhiemer's yesterday. There are so very many who will miss him. they may not be the loudest voices, but they will be the most sincere.
R.I.P. Ronald Reagan February 6, 1911 - June 6, 2004.

THE HORROR OF HYPOCRITS!
John Kerry is being accused of flip flopping to ridiculous proportions. Yet what American can condemn him? Here are a few of the two-faced "mottos" circling the babblespeak among the worms on both sides of the political fence.
Sinner, Hate the Sin - This smug, mealy-mouthed motto is usually smirked
by self-proclaimed Fundamentalist Christians after a spewing a drool of
poisonous hate speak against homosexuals and women who choose to have
an abortion. But since actions define who we are (I
love Christ but I hate christians?), this ideology of loving the
sinner also means that they love Terrorists; Serial Killers; Child Molestors;
and so on.
OF MURDER FOR WEARING BLACK
Several weeks passed and police were stumped-not even a suspect in the case. The public clamoured for an arrest. A month later, detectives finally made three arrests: Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin, and Jessie Misskelley Jr. - teenagers who didn't fit in with the rest of the community. They wore black, listened to heavy metal music, and read horror novels and occult books. But there was no physical evidence connecting any of them to the scene of the murders. Spurred on by a local "expert," police decided the murders were part of a satanic ritual, even though there was no proof of this at the scene of the crime. But that mattered little: They had three young misfits - one of whom, Jessie Misskelley, had confessed to the murders after EIGHT HOURS of police questioning. He recanted it hours later, but by then it was too late.
Surely a jury could not convict these three boys without proof, without a shred of physical evidence - not in America - but they were convicted. Circumstantial evidence and a clearly coerced confession was enough to send Jessie Misskelley Jr. and Jason Baldwin to prison for life, while Damien Echols, considered the "ring leader," was sentenced to death. He is currently on death row, awaiting lethal injection.
While many artists, actors, and musicians have come forward to fight this injustice, this book is the first collection of writings in support of the West Memphis Three. Collected herein are case-related fiction and essays by some of the best writers working today.
